Wolston House - venues

Just 25 minutes from the centre of Brisbane at Wacol is an idyllic pocket of riverside land where Wolston House stands. This unique historical property is an early Queensland farmhouse surrounded by open fields, kangaroos and cattle.

Dr Stephen Simpson, one of Queensland's early settlers, built the original brick and timber structure over 150 years ago in 1852. The building was subsequently extended by the Goggs family and then later by the Grindle and Hurley families.

Saved from demolition in the 1960s by a small band of Brisbane residents, Wolston House was given to the newly created National Trust of Queensland, a not-for-profit organisation.

Today, Wolston House offers many relaxing and delightful activities for visitors as well as unique opportunities for events.

The facilities include a large grassed lawn area with pastoral views and abundant wildlife. Seating is available for up to 80 guests outside and there is generous parking within the grounds.
