Ten years ago, Ed Thomson left her job as an interior designer with a dream to set up a catering business with a design focus. In a small kitchen in Armadale Ed Dixon Food Design, also known as EDFD, was born.

As 'food designers' the EDFD team can co-ordinate the decor, flowers, venue, furniture, service style, beverages, staff attire, entertainment, audio visual, lighting; and of course the food. All aspects of an EDFD event are designed to suit the client’s brief and style.

It was not long before there was a busy team working at EDFD and they had outgrown two kitchens. In 2007, they took over a large custom designed premises in Abbotsford and Felicity Davies became Ed’s trusty business partner.

No longer a small business, EDFD now caters for many small and large functions around Melbourne and throughout Victoria. EDFD share their passion for food at their Abbotsford cooking school hosting monthly classes as well as private hen’s parties and corporate team-building activities.

The award winning team of dedicated and creative staff at EDFD share a common passion for simple, seasonal and fresh food and a creative approach to all aspects of events. Together, they work towards a common goal of exceeding client’s expectations by producing fabulous events delivered professionally, stylishly and on budget. The staff at EDFD are fun, friendly and approachable.
