Andy Wren began his bartending career in his home city of Edinburgh. His love of the industry and creating drinks was nurtured in Edinburgh’s multi award-winning bar Sygn, the Scottish style bar of the year 2006, 2007 and 2008, were he began as a bartender and worked his way up to operations manager and then to general manager.

Having dedicated over four years to Sygn, Andy was bitten by the travel bug and started off his adventures on a six month tour of South East Asia. He then made his way to Australia and settled down in Melbourne finding the city to be like a home away from home.

Andy began working at 1806 and hasn’t looked back since. Working his way up the ladder, Andy is now co-bar manager of 1806, along with Nick Reed. Andy has found working at 1806 to be a great personal and educational experience. He is proud to have had the opportunity to work with a group of such talented and creative bartenders and grow and learn alongside them. He has honed is cocktail knowledge and managerial skills and plans to continue pushing 1806 to the forefront of the world’s cocktail bar scene. A personal goal of his is to for 1806 to be named in the coveted group of the top 10 bars in the world.

Andy plans to reveal his talents and true competitive nature in the elite Melbourne cocktail competition arena and has also helped mentor his fellow 1806 bartenders when they compete.
